Almanzor could be a star turn at York, not once but twice this summer, as trainer Jean-Claude Rouget looks to get last season's European champion colt back on the track.

Winner of the French Derby, Irish and British Champion Stakes in 2016, Almanzor has yet to race this season after suffering from a virus in April.

However, the four-year-old has made a full recovery and Rouget is now preparing him for a return to action.

Rouget is considering a prep run in the Group Two Sky Bet York Stakes on July 29 followed three and a half weeks later with a crack at the Group One Juddmonte International.

"He could possibly go to York. The plan is to prepare him for July. If he runs well, then hopefully he'll go back there for the Juddmonte International," he said.

"The horse is OK now but we have two months' work to have him very well."
