By a good sire and related to some useful staying types, the selection showed promise in point-to-points prior to scoring in a Clonmel bumper last April. That form is nothing special but he stays well and will appreciate today’s softening ground. Race-fit Gunnery Sergeant has form on soft ground and while he receives 8lb from the selection, is nonetheless a nine-race maiden. La Muleta has shown nice ability on good ground recently but soft ground could be a concern.
