FormscanBy Donal Murphy - Gordon Elliott bids to win this race for the ninth year in-a-row, with the Cullentra handler using it as a stepping stone for many talented individuals over the years. While double-handed, CLEATUS POOLAW is clearly the main Elliott hope, with Harry Swan set to partner this Gigginstown House Stud-owned five-year-old. Successful on his second start in a point-to-point at Fairyhouse in April, he was subsequently sold for 120,000 pounds. Big Dee ran a fine race to finish second on debut at Listowel and should give a good account of himself, while Manfredi is another leading contender after finishing a solid eighth in the Tattersalls Ireland Sales bumper. Ivybrook and Bonavena look the most interesting of the newcomers, with the former a brother to Angelo Dundee who was successful on debut at Punchestown in April.
