He stepped up from a debut fifth at Gowran Park when third on better ground at Cork (nicely clear of the fourth). The horse behind him in fifth was subsequently an impressive winner of a Ballinrobe maiden. Reynir's half-brother actually landed a maiden over an extended 10f at this track last year for Murtagh. The 87-rated Genchev is a big danger after finishing runner-up in a big-field maiden over course and distance. That was his first time over this trip and there should be more to come. Strike De Vega can improve from a rear of mid-division finish on debut in a Curragh maiden.
