His runner-up berth on seasonal reappearance at Naas received a healthy boost when the winner obliged in impressive fashion in a Group 3 at Royal Ascot on Thursday. Kilmeaden also has form behind a subsequent Royal Ascot winner when runner-up in Ballinrobe. The winner landed the Group 2 Queen's Vase during the week. Kilmeaden has questions to answer after being beaten into fourth when odds on at Tipperary, however, a return to better ground will help. Vorfreude has been performing more than creditably in maidens and is far from out of this.
