Formscan - Datsalrightgino was a useful novice chaser last season and bounced back from an excusable display at the Cheltenham Festival when scoring at Ayr. However, a 5lb rise and the weather forecast temper enthusiasm, especially with his best efforts coming on a sounder surface. Shan Blue hasn't looked the same since falling in the 2021 Charlie Hall, but a smaller field in a less competitive event may rekindle the enthusiasm. Sam Thomas made a terrific start to his season when all three of his runners at Chepstow last weekend won and it would be an excellent feat if his ANGELS BREATH could return to winning ways. He suffered a nasty injury when winning a novice chase at Ascot in December 2019 and it took the best part of three years for him to see on the racecourse again. The nine-year-old built on his return at Kempton when runner-up at Chepstow in April and the fact connections have had a clear run with him augurs well for his prospects.
