FormscanBy Gary Carson - There looks scope for plenty of improvement from GLOUNTHAUNE this season and he may prove the answer here. The Kodiac colt won a strong maiden on debut early last season but wasn't seen again until running in the Dewhurst in October. He showed the benefit of that run when landing the Killavullan Stakes over this course and distance just a week later. A final outing in the Breeders Cup proved a step too far but he can be forgiven that performance on very quick ground and could be a horse that really blossoms this year. Dr Zempf is the one to beat on ratings, with a mark of 111. He was a touch disappointing on his final start in the Middle Park at Newmarket but had shown top level form when chasing home Ebro River in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh previously. This step up to seven is a worry though as his pedigree is all speed. Exquisite Acclaim has the benefit of a run under his belt this year and could be one for a place.
