FormscanBy Tom Weekes - BOSSOFTHEBROWNIES, whose connections won a bizarre renewal of this race in 2003, contests his first handicap on seasonal reappearance but appears nicely treated. Although he has won just once, the lightly-raced selection showed smart ability in staying novice chases last season. His third-placing in a Punchestown Grade 2 race reads exceptionally well in the context of today’s 139-rating. Anyway’s form, following his runner-up effort at the 2025 Cheltenham festival (behind subsequent Grade 1-winner Caldwell Potter), had initially been hit-and-miss but has shown encouraging signs recently. Uhavemeinstitches, out of an Irish National winner, was pulled up at Punchestown last May but previously won a Grade 3 novice over course-and-distance last March and will have targetted today’s race.
