FormscanBy Shane Redmond - DETROIT MAVERICK (5) went well on his hurdling debut at Gowran Park at the beginning of the month. He made the running that day and only gave best from the second-last hurdle, a fair effort on his first outing since finishing fifth in a bumper on very different ground here in April. The more experienced World As One has a rating of 112 after just losing out at Tramore in April and was a strong favourite to win on his return to action at Downpatrick a month ago, only to be brought down at the first hurdle. City Of Cork was beaten quite a way on each of his three bumper starts last winter. Racing too keenly did nothing for his chances when last seen at Thurles in March.
