The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Neon Diamond, ridden by Sam Ewing, and trained by Gordon Elliott. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Sam Ewing said his instructions were to jump off mid division and ride her to stay on at the finish. He added that throughout the race he was going as fast as she could go, didn't travel down the hill and just stayed on one paced past tiring horses that were up with the pace early on. He concluded by saying if he had gone for his mare any earlier she would have tired and not seen out her race. Gordon Elliott confirmed the instructions given and said he wanted the mare to run on at the line instead of tiring in the closing stages like her last two runs. He further added he was happy with the ride and felt his charge had achieved her best placing. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Neon Diamond was post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations given
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Twentyfourcarrot (GB) trained by Declan Queally had blood at both nostrils post race.
