Hugh is more than capable, he gave that horse a lovely ride because he isn’t the easiest and can be tricky. He got him into a sweet rhythm and did everything right. Limestone Red has been very consistent but the handicaps up here are very tight, with the draw having a big impact. I'm not making an excuse but he has had bad draws all along, . He has done it and I’m delighted for Mr and Mrs Hendron (owners) who have been great supporters of mine and it is a good way to start the year.

P. McGettigan, rider of Roderick (GB), trained by P. Sweeney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount reared in the stalls
R.M Mulligan, rider of Don't Look Now, trained by Shane Crawley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount refused to leave the stalls
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Don't Look Now, trained by Shane Crawley, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Shane Crawley, trainer of Don't Look Now, concerning the conduct of this horse who refused to race. Shane Crawley stated that having made every effort at home to rectify the behaviour of his charge who had previously refused to race at Fairyhouse on the 6th of June 2025, where the animal received a performance warning on that occasion. He further stated that he believed this would be the animals last run for the yard. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards suspended Don't Look Now from running for 30 days in accordance with Rule 14(iii) as a result of it's behaviour.
An extended handicap for four years old and upwards rated 0-60
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
Riders - Confined to Riders who have not ridden more than 20 winners under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing from 16th March, 2025 to 2nd November, 2025 inclusive. Upcoming Race Conditions Week Commencing Monday 12th January 2026
