Formscan By Alan Magee - HURRICANE FLY can complete a hat-trick in this prestigious event. The most dominant Irish hurdler since the great Istabraq winning 14 of his 16 starts for connections, with all bar one at the top level, the French-import suffered one of his rare defeats at Cheltenham last year when a number of the stable’s runners were a shade short of concert pitch. Mullins reports his stablestar stronger this season in gaining two further successes, and he holds the upper-hand in two previous meetings with Binocular at Cheltenham. The latter landed the Prestbury Park feature in 2010, and was just a length behind the selection in last year’s renewal. However Nicky Henderson has been frustrated by the weather in getting him out so far this season, and it normally takes a run or two for him to strike top gear. Thousand Stars is a credit to connections and has gained his share of place money against Hurricane Fly in the past. Presumably he will again make the running.
