THE SUN RACING THE FAVOURITE PULLOUT EVERY DAY HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 4) (GBB RACE) Beorma (IRE), trained by Dan Skelton, won the previous day, 11 June 2026 at Worcester.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Officer, the mare was deemed fit to race.
The Stewards held an enquiry into the circumstances surrounding why COBBLER’S BOY (IRE) and At The Oche (IRE) were both declared non-runners in Race 6, specifically COBBLER’S BOY (IRE), which had been declared to run on ground described as Good to Soft, having previously run twice at the course on ground described as Good.
Skelton explained that he had decided in the morning that the ground would dry significantly throughout the day, with no rain forecast and increasing temperatures, and therefore declared the gelding a non-runner, with the reason given as the going.
He highlighted that his decision had been vindicated when the going was changed to Good after the first race.
