Korinthia lands the odds on hurdling debut
Paul said it was a messy race, that they went steady and there were horses jumping in on top of her. . She settled much better than she had in her bumpers. Jumping and a hood probably helped, and probably Paul's hands as well!. He said the ground was plenty soft for her, she's not very big, and she took a blow so there should be improvement.

Edward O'Grady had this horse. I'd have been friendly with Edward and he was always very good to me. We wanted to buy him 12 months ago to go openlightweighting but we didn't, and he won four open lightweights for Edward with young Staples riding him. Every day he won, Edward rang me to remind me he'd won!. We got him after Edward passed. I would have fancied him more had the rain not come, but he handled the ground well and maybe the change of scenery has helped him. We'll mix and match with him, but I have a chase in December in mind for him, so he might stay over hurdles until then.

We think this lad's a very good horse and that was a good performance carrying all that weight. He seems versatile as well, has won on good ground and can win on soft ground. He's only a four-year-old and has a big career ahead of him. It was a good call by Fergal Hogan who liked him when he saw him and picked him out for Jeff (Brennan, owner). I'm not sure what Jeff's plan is, he does like to sell a few. Whether this lad is on the market or not, I don't know but if someone wanted to buy him, we'd be open to phone calls. We'll see what happens.
