Scallan shines on Jet
This has been the plan for a while,. He probably wanted that bit of dry ground. In fairness Jamie came out with a plan in his head and by-God he executed it well. You’d be hoping he’d turn into a good Foxhunters horse next year. He’s very big so you’d be hoping next year he’d be a year better and more mature. He’ll get a good summer and we’ll make a plan for next year. Jumping is a big asset to this horse, I think he just rubbed one fence, but I can’t commend Jamie enough he was outstanding on him. I’m very lucky to have him. I knew when I saw how far clear he was going to two out that he would stay and I seen Rob (James) giving Ian McCarthy’s horse (Hearts And Spades) a little shove. I wasn’t confident until he jumped the last. It’s great when it comes off.
Wonderwall edges duel with rival Line
He’s brilliant, an unbelievable horse. It just didn’t happen for him in Cheltenham,. I wanted to get another run into him before Cheltenham but they called off Lisronagh. It was kind of my fault that he wasn’t ready enough. He won well in Dromahane last time and Rob gave him a lovely ride there. He’s a funny old horse, he likes plenty of room and light. It probably suits him better here. He was great there again today. Its On The Line is a hard horse to beat but he managed it. They are two brilliant horses and it’s great that they keep fighting it out and coming back. He loves nice ground and he’ll probably go to Stratford now.

Last year, in fairness, he always ran great races. On his second run at Wexford last year he travelled so well around there with Jake Coen and I was keen to drop him back to two miles and get in here. Seamus Perry and Brian Larkin bought into him and it’s worked out great for them. To come to the Punchestown festival and get a winner is brilliant. Our lad has been known as a weak finisher and a bridle horse but he dug deep today. He’ll tip away for a couple more handicaps and he’ll end up being a nice chaser.
Largy battles back in bumper
He’s some horse to stay and the bit of nicer ground helped,. He just didn’t operate on the heavy ground in Naas, he found it tough work. Back on nice ground today he was very tough and stayed going. He didn’t jump particularly well the last day in Fairyhouse, he didn’t jump at all to be honest. He’ll have to smarten up with that but if he can do that he’s a nice horse.
