An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference throughout the final furlong, involving the winner, Ahead Of Fashion (GB), ridden by Billy Loughnane and Private Affair (IRE), placed second, ridden by Sean Levey.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Ahead Of Fashion (GB)’s placing as the gelding hung badly left-handed in the straight, taking Private Affair (IRE), a significant distance off its intended line across the track, and preventing the horse from being able to come with a clear run, once Private Affair (IRE), was able to straighten up the colt came with a strong run to be beaten a diminishing neck at the line.
The placings were revised the placings as follows: First- Private Affair (IRE); Second - Ahead Of Fashion (GB); Third - Red Savitar (GB); Fourth - Mwaki (GB).
The interference was found to be accidental as Ahead Of Fashion (GB) hung left-handed under pressure despite the rider’s best efforts to correct.
Following the race Billy Loughnane reported that Ahead Of Fashion (GB), placed second, hung left-handed under pressure.
