Switch From Diesel is motoring over hurdles now
She’s a lovely filly to have,. The plan after winning her maiden hurdle was to come back here. At this time of year you are trying to pick your tracks and pick your ground, and the ground was beautiful. She’s progressive and we’ll mix it between Flat and jumps. We'll maybe see if there is both a good Flat handicap in her and a good jumping handicap in her. It’s a nice stepping stone again and she’ll probably keep going while the ground is safe. She’s enjoying it. That wasn’t too tough on her, it was like a bit of work. Hopefully she can keep heading in the right direction.
Gaelic Arc jumps for fun and wins for Sexton
His first run back didn’t go according to plan but I’d say he would have won in Kilbeggan only he got a terrible fall. He seems to have come alive again. In fairness to Tom (Westropp Bennett) and Mark (Fleming) they were gutsy enough to leave Harry on him. I think Harry is a good kid, I like him. I fancied him today to run a huge race. Maybe it wasn’t the strongest race in the world, but it’s great to have a winner at Punchestown. He gave him a lovely ride. He kept a bit up his sleeve and finished well.
Quantum Quest outstays rivals on chase debut
Le Grand Vert enjoys conditions at rain-hit Punchestown
He had been running well,. He was fourth last time when the wee girl in the yard (Erin Dunseath) rode him and he ran a fair race for her. He probably just needs a staying track and the rain today, and the softer ground, suited him. He’s not fast and he’s probably not that genuine. but on slow ground when somebody takes him on, he can plug away. I told Carl to ride him as he finds him. He jumped well, I thought he made a couple of slight mistakes watching on TV but he said he jumped brilliantly. I told him to sit quiet, keep filling him up, and see how he goes. We bought him out of a claimer and he’s won three for us so we can’t complain. If every horse did that, you’d be okay.
Lizzie Twigg does it easily on hurdling debut
She’s a good mare. She won her bumper and I ran her too quick then in Fairyhouse. She jumped well there today and we're delighted. We’ll look for some black-type now, that would be important. She’s for sale and is a nice mare going forward.
Sexton on target again aboard Elliott's Brother Walfrid
He had a good run at Easter. I shouldn’t have run him in a bumper the last day, it was just that the owners were going so we said we would. He’s a big three-mile horse in the making, he jumps and stays well. It was a good performance, they pulled well clear of the third. We’ll try and win again with him somewhere.
