2.40 5f. 3-y-o plus8 Ran William Fry Sapphire Stakes (Group 3) of €100,000.00 3-y-o plus
1st - €65,000.00, 2nd - €20,000.00, 3rd - €10,000.00, 4th - €4,000.00 8 Ran Not for the first time a major sprint at the Curragh had all three places filled by English trained runners.
Tax Free, a winner at Naas on his last start, came home best collaring the joint-favourite Benbaun inside the final 100 yards.
Benbaun, a six-time course winner, got a good lead from Desert Lord, but while he again ran a fine race the edge may be gone off him at seven years of age.
The first three home were the first three throughout. Dermot Weld's Italian import Le Cadre Noir ran a pleasing race on his Irish debut to finish fourth and will certainly pick up less competitive races.
The other joint-favourite Myboycharlie has run below expectations on both his starts this season and at this stage there is a distinct possibility that he may not have trained on.
