Chasing prospect Kiely's Place makes winning start over hurdles
I think he is a very good horse and is ahead of my horse King Of Aces who won here last month. He is for sale to stay in the yard, and he is a chaser really. The runner-up had a run, which was my worry, but I thought he could definitely give him a rattle. I had him entered for auction races as he sold for €5,000 at a sale but he sold post-sale, so unfortunately wasn't qualified, and he wasn't that cheap when I bought him!. His previous trainer Eugene O'Sullivan recommended him highly and his nephew Alan O'Sullivan was also very sweet on him, and that is what he has been showing us at home. I'd be hoping he is a graded horse, and he'll go over fences next year.
Fenway Park socks it to his rivals in the claimer
It was nice for him to do something, but it was a fairly weak contest. He hadn't been putting it in in chases recently so at least when others came to him today, he did enough to win and stuck his head down and battled. He has been a bit disappointing, but we got today out of him and he is cheap now (at €10,000) that he has won a race. The syndicate is a hab dash of people from all over and half were included in I'm A Game Changer, who won a graded race.

I thought we had Courtney's horse (Is Charlie Around) well stuffed at the second last and Dan said he hadn't moved on him. He said he thought he'd have won anyway. He stays and I'd say he needs three miles, and every yard of it. We nearly lost him in Listowel (in September 2024) and he was on three legs for six months afterwards. He is back to himself now though and will go for a Listed chase at Gowran next month, in which he finished second in 2024. He'll take beating in that race as he loves the heavy ground, but he also goes on good ground. He is a huge horse. His dam is a half-sister to Commanche Court and I love those Kalanisi's.
Brown Boots sends punters home happy at Clonmel
The betting was a lot more confident than I was, so there was pressure!. He is a nice horse who is coming the right way and won nicely in Navan, with the runner-up being just beaten at Fairyhouse the other day. He hadn't that many fences jumped going to Navan, but he jumped very well and it takes a bit of winning there. That is testing ground today, but he seemed to handle it away. He was well-in and I'm delighted it has come off. We'll work away with him now in both codes and he is a nice, solid type of horse. His owner John Murray, from Shinrone, is a good supporter of mine and was involved with Snugsborough Benny with me in the past.
