Naomi Lapaglia gives Lyons a one-two in feature
She overheated the last day,. At the Curragh the last day she ran no race and, when she came back, in she was really distressed. She hadn’t even broke into sweat and you can see her there, she’s really sweaty. The problem is when you don’t sweat you overheat. She’s a filly we like and she was my pick in the race, as it was on ratings. If Colin had the choice, he would have chosen Madam Celeste on the track and then we were throwing little Continuite in deep after winning her maiden which is hard. It’s a good result for Eleanora and good result for Madam Celeste who came back with a penalty, and I think she ran her race. She (Madam Celeste) got a bit of a bang after her last run so it’s taken from May to now to get her back, so it was a good honest run. She’s a nice filly for them to have, a Galileo, going to stud.

Plaza Athenee 'could be nice' after scoring in Gowran
She did that nicely. We were disappointed she was beaten the last day. Colin said she’s very progressive and has a good attitude, he said she’s going to keep improving. She’s a very big filly and she could be nice. I’d say anywhere around that mile-and-a-quarter is fine for her. Colin was saying to take baby steps, but he thinks she’s going to end up being very nice.

She’s been running great. She’s in again tomorrow (Cork) and we’ll see how she is in the morning. I thought it might cut up a bit and I’d say it did a bit, so we’ll see in the morning if she takes her chance. We’ll give her a trot out and let her out for an hour. We might take her chance, she can have a rest after it then. She’s been very disappointing overall. We actually broke her as a young horse for John Breslin and she went to Tony Mullins and he thought an awful lot of her. We got her back and she was working like a 90 horse, but she was only rated 50. I told John (Breslin, breeder) to forget about her. We ran her in Dundalk a few times and sent her home and he gave her to the man that looks after the farm for him. He ended up putting a syndicate together, I told him he was mad!. That’s four runs now and she’s been third, second twice and now won. They baffle us sometimes, her and Mephisto have baffled me. They just turn a corner and there is no reason for it. She can run over hurdles as well, as she has a mark over hurdles. She’s turned out to be a great fun horse for the lads.
