THE IGLU APPRENTICE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) Permission was given for London Is Blue (GB) to go to post early wearing a red hood, for Ambishio (IRE) to go to post early and for Adalida (GB) to be mounted on the course.
Jack Callan, the rider of London Is Blue (GB), drawn 4, was slow to remove the blindfold.
Callan’s explanation that he missed the blindfold at the first attempt after it got stuck on the bridle before removing it at the second attempt as the gelding was being difficult and leaning on the side of the stall, was noted.
An enquiry was held into the circumstance surrounding why a section of the running rail was not in place at the road crossing after the winning line.
The Clerk of the course was interviewed and after hearing his evidence, a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
