Rathbawn Soldier marches in for Foley
We’re delighted with her. I was worried that it was her first run in a handicap, she has been on and off the bridle in her last two races,. I didn’t know if she’d be keen or behind the bridle. I said to Alex (Harvey) to have her handy and go from there. If she was keen, there was nothing we could do about it, but I’d rather have her up there. She never missed a beat - she had a bit of a look at the last, but Alex knows her from home so he knew what to do with her. He was very good on her. She’s not a big, strong filly - she’ll probably handle a bit of nice ground, so we’ll keep her in over the summer. We’ll see what the handicapper does with her and go off that.
Rocky's Howya enjoying himself in claimers
That’s his kind of thing now. He’s ten-years-old and he’s had plenty of issues. He’s staying in one piece at the moment. He’s had tendon issues. Dave (Kiely) is getting a good return out of him. He’d been a long-time maiden. Between point-to-pointing and aiming for Foxhunters, he’d never really had a clear run. He’s a grand horse and he’s grand for that job. He’s a novice and a veteran! He can run in a novice chase as well, so he has a couple of options. I’d say the visor is after waking him up and Kevin is good value for his 7lb.
Walk In The Clouds seals double for Healy
It was great to get that. I think the ride won the race to be honest. She’s been a bit disappointing, but I think the cheekpieces maybe got her going. She was having a good look around and had a look at a wing or two. It’s great to get a win out of her. That’s her grade and it’s job done today, anything else is a bonus now after that. She was probably idling a bit in front and having a good look around. Kevin felt she wasn’t doing a tap in front.
Umpire's Call delights Dempsey with winning verdict
That was great. He stepped down to a handicap. He got injured last year. Brian Pierce has been a great supporter of ours down through the years. I’m delighted with him. He’s a huge horse and I’d say it’s only now he’s coming fitness wise. He jumped brilliant. He had been jumping too high but the two lads, Donagh (Meyler) and Keith have been schooling him over the round hurdles at home. They let him rip last Sunday week and he jumped very well. He’s a chaser in the making, hopefully. I’ll say we’ll get another run into him over hurdles, it will depend on the ground. He’s so big he’d definitely want a cut. I’d say he’ll wants three miles eventually too.
Let's Go Mans gives Donoghue a brace of winners
He had the run in the point-to-point the last day and he’s a real stayer. Keith gave him a great ride and being switched inside was probably the difference between winning and losing. He’s a work in progress, but hopefully he can progress from here and maybe he’ll win another one. We’ll get him back home and, if he’s sound, he’ll be out for something similar before too long. He’s lowly enough rated but hopefully he’ll be able to progress.
