Catalina Delcarpio wins impressively on debut
she’s a nice filly, she’s always trained well and I was looking forward to coming racing today. I told the owner last week I was putting her in the Epsom Oaks but then I decided not to, I don’t know whether that was a good or bad idea. I just thought Epsom might come a bit soon with her development starting today. He told me we could supplement, so I said we’ll see. She was just ready to start and mine usually get well beaten on debut, I think she’s nice. I haven’t thought about plans. I wanted to come here and start and see what happened. I’m happy with what happened and we’ll make a new plan now.

Himalayan Heights wins on seasonal reappearance
that was nice. Last year he was doing everything wrong, he was pulling and dragging out of Colin, and then we gelded him and he’s after maturing. Colin says when they go a nice gallop like that, he settles and does it lovely. He matured and that’s all we were hoping he’d do. He’s a gorgeous horse, by Camelot, and we’ll have fun with him. Fingers crossed racing over ten or 12 (furlongs) there will be a good pot to be won with him.
Murtagh's good run continues with easy winner Alakazi
Alakazi has been going very well at home and his work companion ran very well yesterday: we probably have a couple of nice three-year-olds colts this year. I ran him last year just to get experience into him but was a bit disappointed leaving because I thought he was nice. Maybe it was a bit much for him first time out on heavy ground. It was interesting to see how he behaved today with the Student Day and the good buzz around the place, but he took it all really well. We’ll stick him up into a Stakes race the next time and see what he’s made of.
Lord Massusus lands a third Stakes success
he got a little bogged down in the ground at the Curragh the first day where seven furlongs probably didn’t suit him either. We expected a better run that day but were very disappointed coming home. We put the hood on and he settled better today: he has been over-racing through his races a little bit. we’ll keep him to Listed and Group 3s here and maybe come back here on Champions Weekend for the Boomerang Stakes. He’ll be a solid horse in all those Listed and Group races here and at the Curragh for the season. We tried him in a Group 1 last year and he’s just not quite that level but he’s very solid at this level and he’s able to carry the penalties. People say he’s effective on soft ground but that was in a nursery and in a conditions race as a two-year-old, but this - and quicker, is his preferred surface.
Enchanted Garden gets back on track
I didn’t handle her the best last year, as when she won here unexpectedly first time out, I got excited and rushed her. I rang the owners and I said ‘I’m after ruining this!’, so they said to me to throw her out and try and get it right next year. We all laughed and here we are. I don’t know whether we can go the whole way but she’s way better than 72 (rating) anyway. Hopefully she can move on, I think there is improvement. There is a premier handicap at the Guineas meeting at the Curragh and I’d imagine that’s next. She’s been showing me that, I wasn’t surprised as she shows fair ability. She races with her head a bit sideways but there is certainly no dishonesty, she’s the most honest filly you’ve ever seen with a beautiful temperament. He (Sheridan) said she maybe blew up but I left her a bit fresh as I was thinking of the next day. Hopefully I’ll get it right this time!

Michael O'Sullivan remembered after poignant Leopardstown win
Dad took over the licence when my grandad (David) passed away and he has stepped into the role very well. This it huge, as we put this syndicate of lads together after Michael O’Sullivan died. Michael was our best friend and everyone was in my house one evening when this horse came up for sale, so I said ‘lads we’ll throw in a few quid and it’ll keep us together’. That was the idea - for having days out, but not really expecting to go and win. It’s a little bit emotional because you’d love if Mick was here with us, it’s all in memory of him and he’s definitely looking down on us. I would have loved if it was me or Alex (Harvey, brother) in the saddle but hopefully this is the first of many for the horse and for Dad.
