Leaving the stalls, Sir Joseph Swan (GB), placed third, jumped left carrying Pop Ya Collar (IRE), unplaced, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Sir Joseph Swan (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider 2 incidents of interference.
The first incident occurred approaching 1 furlong after the start when Largo Bay (USA), placed second, ridden by George Rooke, interfered with Sir Joseph Swan (GB), placed third, ridden by Nicola Currie, who in turn interfered with Tara Iti (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Rhys Clutterbuck, who in turn interfered with Fandabidozi (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Jonny Peate.
Rooke was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he maneuvered left when insufficiently clear carrying Sir Joseph Swan (GB) onto Tara Iti (GB) resulting in Fandabidozi (IRE) becoming tight for room on the rail and Peate having to take a check.
The second incident occurred shortly after the first when Fandabidozi (IRE) interfered with Tara Iti (GB).
Peate was cautioned for careless riding as he shifted right when insufficiently clear causing Clutterbuck to take a slight check.
Following the race, Ryan Tate reported that Pop Ya Collar (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly.
