- Stewards Report
Permission was given for Hattie C (GB) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post.
Approaching the 2-furlong marker, Sir Lelo (GB), unplaced, ducked right-handed, away from the whip, onto Hattie C (GB), placed seventh, bumping the filly, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final ½ furlong involving the winner, Burning Bush (IRE), ridden by Tom Marquand and Ye Gud Thing (IRE), placed second, ridden by Ray Dawson.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Burning Bush (IRE)’s placing as the interference suffered by Ye Gud Thing (IRE) was not significant and the gelding was always being held by Burning Bush (IRE) which won by a neck, appearing to be going away at the line.
Marquand was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his horse to drift right-handed, away from the whip, moving Ye Gud Thing (IRE) slightly off its intended line.
Following the race, Franny Norton reported that Fair And Square (GB), unplaced, jumped left-handed from the stalls, Hollie Doyle reported that Bicep (IRE), placed fourth, hung left-handed throughout and Callum Shepherd reported that Wrought Iron (GB), placed third, hung left-handed under pressure.
