- Stewards Report
Permission was given for Brazen Belle (GB), Nacho (IRE), and Billy Dylan (IRE) to go early to post, and for Gizza Job (GB) to go early and be led to post.
On the run to the line the winner, Dark Side Prince (GB), lugged slightly right-handed into the path of Red Walls (GB), placed third, causing the rider to ease momentarily, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Dark Side Prince (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference approaching the final furlong involving Glamorous Force (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Trevor Whelan, Billy Dylan (IRE), placed second, ridden by Faye McManoman, Brazen Belle (GB), placed eighth, ridden by Richard Kingscote, Toplight (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Joey Haynes, and Nacho (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by David Nolan.
In the first incident Billy Dylan (IRE) swerved quickly right-handed despite its rider’s best efforts, at the same time as Glamorous Force (GB) attempted a legitimate run on its outside resulting in the gelding being badly hampered and carried onto Brazen Belle (GB) which received a significant bump and, in turn, carried Toplight (GB) off its intended line.
A short distance later, in the second incident, having suffered interference Glamorous Force (GB) was shifted left-handed to avoid the heels of Billy Dylan (IRE) and gave Nacho a significant bump.
Both incidents were found to be accidental.
