Wexford Sat, 20th May, 2023  Goodnightngodbless She has been frustrating to say the least. She has hit the crossbar on several occasions and I thought that we were struggling with her of late. She is always a bit sluggish away and Charlie said it took her about four or five fences to warm up. He said she was a bit on her head early, but once she settled into it she was fine. She jumped great in the middle part of the race and probably had a bit of a look at the last when in front. She was probably going to win anyway. She was coming at them around the home bend and she loves coming passed horses. She stays forever, that's the one thing she does, she stays and stays. Races over three-mile-one are hard to find but they suit her down to the ground. She has three won now and I'll talk to Frank (Berry) but she is again on Thursday at Limerick. It's over three-mile-one again, I just put her in, in case anything went wrong today. She is a grand one to have and it's good to get a winner for JP (McManus) who is a great supporter.

Killarney Mon, 15th May, 2023  Stealthy Tom He’s a grand horse. He won this last year and he won over the banks at Punchestown in February. He was just touched off in the La Touche which I think is going to be his game down the track. He stays well and needed every bit of the two and a half miles there. The handicapper shouldn’t give him too much for that. This was the plan and I love winning here. He’s only had three runs this year so we’ll probably find something else for him.

Punchestown Fri, 28th Apr, 2023  Fr Gilligansvoyge Punchestown races is always a big deal for us. Richard (Farrell, owner) was at school with me, many years ago, and we've been friends ever since. I've had seven horses for himself and his late father over the years but we never had any luck and unfortunately Dick passed away about 18 months ago. It's nice to win in the end. He dead-heated (in Borris House) with the horse (Three By Two) that won the Ladies Cup on Tuesday. You don't like shouting too loud, but we were quietly confident. Richard lives in Bishopscourt House in Kill where the Cup originated from, with the Kennedy family, back in 1880.

Punchestown Tue, 25th Apr, 2023  Three By Two She has plenty of experience hurdling and then point-to-pointing. We were unlucky in this race a few times and we’ve won the La Touche. This mare may come back here on Saturday if she is fine. She enjoys it and hopefully she comes out of this fine.

Downpatrick Sun, 2nd Apr, 2023  Law Ella When she was second in the Grade 2 (mares) bumper in Aintree last year, I didn't think she would still be a maiden a year later. That's Irish racing, it just shows you what you are up against all the time. She did (pick up well after the mistake at the last), hopefully she can kick on from here. I'm not sure where we will go, I'm just happy to get that done. She could be a candidate for Punchestown.

Down Royal Fri, 17th Mar, 2023  Longhouse Poet He needed to do that. JJ had a bit of a mishap with him in Fairyhouse in the Bobbyjo so we wanted to get them to gel a bit more. It would be (important) when you are going around there (Aintree). He jumped great and handles the ground and it was lovely to see. He was (value for the winning margin), you would never know how much you have left with him as he just only does enough. When something comes to him, he stretches them a little bit again. He did (run a cracker for a long way in the Grand National). He probably over-raced himself, he was very fresh on the day. That's why I wanted to get a race closer to the National into him, so he wouldn't be too buzzed up. Darragh (O'Keeffe) gave him a great ride (in the Grand National), he had a fantastic round of jumping and all roads lead back there now.

Leopardstown Sun, 5th Mar, 2023  The Yellow Clay The Yellow Clay is a nice horse and we think a good bit of him. I loved the way he hit the line. He'll probably go for the listed bumper in Limerick next but is a horse for next year and is one to look forward to. he is only the second homebred runner that the Morans (Bective Stud owners) have had and he is the first winner. They had three homebred horses this year - one was no good, one okay and one nice.

Leopardstown Sun, 5th Feb, 2023  The Goffer That was fantastic. He jumped from fence to fence., said Russell.Gordon really fancied him if he came back to his best. I kept asking him(for big jumps) and he kept responding. It's easy when horses do that for you. We thought he had a chance on the drying ground. He probably wants a bit further but he jumped great and galloped the whole way to the line. We're very happy. Davy was great on him. I told him to go out and take every chance, don't leave the paint. In those big handicaps that's what you have to do. We'll look at all those long distance races and he could be an Irish National horse.
