Kilbeggan Fri, 4th Sep, 2026  Soldante He’s a cracking horse. We’ve loved him from day one, he’s had issues but Pat (McCormack) has been fantastic and just let us do our thing,. With the help of Aaron (brother), we have a cracking team. It took a while to get this lad back but this year we’ve been so happy with him. We made a plan after Galway. Pat had never had a winner here, so we said we’d come here and have one go. It’s been a dream for him.

Downpatrick Mon, 31st Aug, 2026  Beggars Rock I'd say the ground maybe turned up too slow (in Galway). I didn't even want to run him again after Galway and the owners said we will give him one more go. He's after winning two, thank God. He got it handy there in front today, his jumping is very good. I was worried that he was down in trip, but we were hoping Finnians Row would go a gallop and make it a test and he didn't, but Kevin was good on him. I was watching and at the fourth-last I was saying, 'Go on, kick him on!', and he wasn't. I’m delighted for the owners. I'd say we might end up coming back over hurdles the next day (in Downpatrick) - he's rated 100 over hurdles. I had him in at Fontwell on Friday and I was going to bring him and the English handicapper gave him 8lb, so I didn't bother. He repaid us there. I rang the boys and they let me go to Downpatrick instead, and it worked out.

Galway Sun, 2nd Aug, 2026  Caher Roes Den His Downpatrick run was encouraging but he needed to step up to win here today. I got a nice position and he jumped well. Maybe a bit flat-footed off the bend but I liked what he done when he got a bit of daylight,. He ran up the hill nicely towards the finish. He's probably a horse that will jump a fence as well and we'll see what connections will do.

Wexford Wed, 22nd Jul, 2026  Queenofthelodge My farrier Dan (Breen) bred her and he leases her to the syndicate. They're delighted and the mare is a half-sister to (Topham Chase winner) Will The Wise. I don't know how many are actually in the syndicate but there are a good few here and they're all local lads. She hasn't done much schooling recently due to the fast ground at home, although we initially had her ready to run in a point-to-point. I think she'll make a better chaser than hurdler. She'll go for a Ladies Flat Race in Tramore (August) and then go for the Kilbegnet Chase at Roscommon in September. She could progress a bit over fences.

Roscommon Mon, 8th Jun, 2026  Soldante He has been consistent in his few runs. The ground was a factor for him and he got it today. It was a valuable 7lb off him there. Kevin started with us from pony camp and has worked his way up. He went to Simon Cavanagh and it’s lovely to be able to give him a winner. I’m very pleased with the horse. He did it lovely, jumped beautifully. He’s been a good servant and I’m very happy to win over fences with him. He’s had some lovely runs. Eoin Walsh was riding but he’s out of action at the moment unfortunately, otherwise he would have been riding him. He’s learned plenty and he jumped professionally today, so I’m very pleased with him.

Punchestown Sun, 7th Jun, 2026  Raglan Road Delighted with that. Mike was great on him. He saw out the trip well and, it was a nice run. It was great to see him win today and, we'll see where we'll go.

Limerick Thu, 21st May, 2026  Mic Drop My horses were wrong all winter and even into the spring but, last week, two ran well after coming back. The yard was out of form but, even with the vets, we couldn't get to the bottom of it. It was just one of those things and touch wood, we are through it now. I have eight or 10 to race for the summer and the nicer ground helped this horse. He can be a little keen, so Sean jumped him out and led, which helped him to relax.

As a young horse he didn’t handle the tough tacky ground - it might be a little bit dead there, but I’d say it might have suited him. The second horse (Kilbrin Rocco), of Eoin McCarthy’s, had a great run, but he might want it slightly better and I’d say we got our ground. He was out all winter and came in a bit poor. He got six or eight weeks of lunging and three weeks of riding and he ran a great race in Limerick. We were happy to be in the first three today. He minds a bit for himself and I’d say the main thing is to hunt around and let him enjoy himself.
