Punchestown Wed, 29th Apr, 2026  Quinta Do Lago We don’t have many national hunt horses now. I’d like a few more of them, we can still train them!. He was bought at the Orby Sale to be a two-year-old and run in the ‘Million’ but it didn’t happen. He was a backward three-year-old so we decided to keep him for an academy hurdle. I was determined if I was going to go for that I was going to win it. Then he won his maiden hurdle here. He went to Cheltenham and finished fifth in the ‘Fred Winter’ and I’d say he’s only really coming to himself now. I’d say what he really appreciated today was the step up in trip. He’s always been a strong stayer. To give them time and patience is the hardest thing.

Fairyhouse Sat, 4th Apr, 2026  Kalix Delabarriere I’m delighted for Sean to have a nice winner on a big day,. He had first time cheekpieces on today and Sean just bit his lip and bided his time during the race. They are difficult conditions to ride in here today. A lot of the jockeys are not sure what the best way is to ride the track with the wind. Some horses aren’t just facing into it so it’s very difficult. It’s a tremendous victory for Sean and it’ll be a great tonic for Lar Byrne who is a bit under the weather at the moment.

Cheltenham Wed, 11th Mar, 2026  King Rasko Grey I looked at the big screen after the race and I couldn’t believe he was 11-1. I thought he was one of ours coming here with a really good chance. You never have a banker coming to Cheltenham, but I thought he would be 2-1 or 3-1 max after his run at the Dublin Racing Festival. I wasn’t tipping him to my friends as I thought he’d be too short for them – they’re all very poor!. I said after the Leopardstown that he would step forward. I thought he was a little short going into that and I expected him to improve. I think Paul chose to ride this horse straight away, there was no debate, and I thought the same – to me this fellow was head and shoulders above a lot of the horses here. It’s great for the Turleys after the disappointment (with Galopin Des Champs) earlier in the week, it’s fantastic for them to have a winner here.
