Kilbeggan Fri, 24th Apr, 2026  Kershaw I’m delighted to get my first bumper winner. I’ve had this horse since he was a foal. I bought him off John Kidd, he was a gorgeous foal. He ran a savage race in his point-to-point around Loughanmore, it was a really fast time. The winner was Mister Pessimistic and the race has produced a few winners. We just couldn’t get a bit of nice ground for him, it was a rotten winter. He got blocked three times running down the hill in Down Royal and couldn’t get out. If he had got out, he would have been a good second. Coming here, I wasn’t sure how he’d handle the track. I thought he had a bit of class and he’s proved it. He’s done really good bits of work around Dreaper’s field and his homework has been great. He’s a brilliant hurdler and we’ll see what happens. He’s in my own colours and there were a lot of boys interested in him after his point-to-point. If the price is right we might sell him.
