Formscan By Tom Weekes - STRATUM has disappointed on his last two runs in high class staying flat races but did win at Royal Ascot in June. A smart stayer both on the flat and over hurdles, his latest two runs are worrying but a reproduction of his Galway festival ninth-placing, from his 142 rating, or his Queen Alexandra Stakes win would see him have every chance and he receives 6lbs from three rivals. Commander Of Fleet, a Grade 1 winning novice hurdler in 2019, returned from a 570 absence last November and while he won over course and distance in March, is vulnerable to smarter types and also lacks a recent run. Nibblers Charm should be nicely suited to stepping up to three miles and while he needs to improve a little to win, comes here in good form and goes well on a sound surface. Holymacapony showed good promise in his early career and while his Galway festival run was adequate, he needs to return to his best today and is now tried in first-time cheek-pieces. Doctor Duffy is a good stayer who is rated 147 over fences and has his first run since March while stablemate Alpine Cobra has his first hurdles run since February 2020.
