FormscanBy Mark Nunan - It wasn’t the strongest Cheltenham Festival event ever run, but nevertheless CONCERTISTA’S 66/1 second on hurdles debut in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle makes her hard to oppose. Danny Mullins’ mount was headed on the post by stablemate and fellow longshot Eglantine Du Seuil, and the daughter of Nathaniel had been off the track since a Flat campaign in France in 2017, which saw her win over 10 furlongs at Bordeaux. Getting 8lbs and having had plenty of jumping experience, Rhythm Divine might well be able to make a race of it with the selection. Tom Gibney’s mare twice ran well behind Elfile (sixth in the Cheltenham Mares’ Novice) at Punchestown last season, and that doesn’t leave her too far off the favourite on these terms, although obviously the selection has loads of potential to improve significantly. Any mare in the Kenny Alexander colours is worthy of respect and Telmesomethinggirl is a dark one here having won her only point-to-point for Colin Bowe while Miss Cognac is entitled to come forward from her Gowran fourth to the subsequent Cheltenham runner-up Soviet Pimpernel.
