Formscan By Tom Weekes - Reappearing DUFFYS HODEY is something of a handicap blot competing over fences for just the second time. It took until last season for him to show worthwhile and consistent form but, in that time, climbed from a hurdle rating of 81 to 112. He was pulled up on his sole chase start in January 2024 but is better than that, likes soft ground and an experienced 7lb claimer lightens the burden for good measure. Hitthehayson has been running well but debuts over fences and seems better on a sound surface. Busy stablemates The Little Yank and Kilashee have won 15 races between them and revert from hurdling.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards rated 0-100
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.
Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. Top weight after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st 4lbs and the minimum weight is 10st 7lbs. Note The Rules and instructions relating to the Overnight Nomination of Riders shall not apply in this instance. The top 8 horses declared in race card order will be allocated riders from the selected British based and Irish based Riders team by lot. Trainers of any remaining horses in this race should declare a rider of their choice. The draw for riders will take place at 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday 19th November with the toss of a coin to determine which team draws odd or even numbers. Individual riders will then be drawn by ballot. Points will be scored by the first eight placed horses on a scale of 15-12-10-8-7-6-5-4, if the horse is eligible to score points, and the team that accumulates the highest number of points will be deemed the winner. In the event of there being less than 8 horses declared or a non-runner the equivalent rider in the opposing team eg. Nos. 1 & 2, Nos 3 & 4 etc., will not be eligible to score points. Riders in the challenge will wear the Registered colours with each country's team wearing a distinguis
