Formscan - Commodore has to shoulder joint-top weight and has been off since completing the Grand National course in April, but he bolted up in this contest 12 months ago, albeit off a 9lb lower mark, and should not be taken lightly in this year's renewal. However, BROKEN QUEST shaped as though he needed his first appearance for four months at Chepstow and then registered a much-improved second over 2m4f at this venue. He can progress again now stepping back up in trip. Switch Hitter should not be dismissed for powerful connections.
