FormscanBy Tom Weekes - TIME FOR MABEL seemed to show improved form when tried at three miles for the first time here on November 1 and might be able to follow up today over the same trip. He has always been a useful, if frustrating to follow, gelding and he ended a long losing spell when winning on his first try at a staying trip latest. He is 6lbs higher but there could be some more improvement in him at this trip. Thermistocles is interesting on his handicap debut at this trip. He won his bumper over 2m4f, suggesting he should stay this trip over jumps, but his 3.25L proximity to smart hurdler Dortmund Park last January has left him with a high enough rating of 120 to work with. Odit missed all of 2017 but returned to form in recent times and has obvious claims at this trip. Massini's Trap is capable at this grade and cannot be dismissed despite being well enough beaten at Aintree latest while Small World was well held latest but is a previous CD winner and has solid claims on his previous best form. Cooldine Bog was a winner at Cork earlier this month but ran yesterday at Fairyhouse, where he ran another consistently good race to finish third in a useful novice hurdle.
