FormscanBy Gary Carson - KEMBOY looked really progressive at the end of the last campaign and may be able to take this on his return to action. The handicapper now has him on a mark of 157 after a very convincing success in a valuable novice handicap chase at Punchestown and on that rating he's the one to beat considering that he receives weight from his chief rivals. Doctor Phoenix could be the danger over this trip after producing some fine efforts last term. The best of those was probably when actually falling at Fairyhouse as he appeared to have the measure of Un De Sceaux then. Alpha Des Obeaux won this last year and is entitled to come on from his recent comeback run at Limerick while stable-mate A Toi Phil can't be discounted either despite a disappointing show on his return at Gowran.

Weights - 4-y-o 10st 10lb; 5-y-o and up 11st 5lb; Mares allowed 7lb
Allowances - Horses which have not won a steeplechase before 30th April, 2017 allowed 4lb
Penalties - (handicaps excluded) to count from 1st May, 2017 Winner of three steeplechases or a Grade 3 steeplechase 3lb extra; Of two Grade 3 steeplechases or a Grade 2 steeplechase 5lb extra; Of a Grade 1 steeplechase 7lb extra; HRI Directive 6 (ii) (b) is suspended for the purpose of this race.
