The winner, Hazy Dream (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Taunton on 27 April 2023, where the mare finished sixth of thirteen, beaten by 4 lengths.
It was noted that Hazy Dream (GB) had returned from a 350-day break and undergone wind surgery since its previous run.
The mare was routine tested.
Approaching the last hurdle, the winner, Hazy Dream (GB), moved quickly right-handed causing the rider of Pentire Head (IRE), placed second, to switch, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Hazy Dream (GB).
Following the race, Tom Bellamy reported that Technology (IRE), placed fourth, hung left-handed.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Pentire Head (IRE), placed second, was showing signs of post-race ataxia.
