I'd say Sam (Coen) is cursing me because he would have been riding this horse, so it is his loss but Reese's gain. They are two great lads and the title race is going down to the wire. Sam has ridden a lot of winners for me over the past couple of years and a good result would be a draw!. this horse had gone 15 runs without a win, and I won't tell you what I was saying about the handicapper! He gave him 1lb for finishing third at the Curragh last week so that’s why we are back today, as he was going up to 61 and out of this (0-60) grade. I was sort of forced to run as it is great to have him in this grade. He has run a blinder, needed the 5lb (Holohan’s claim) off and when these types of horses get into this grade, it is easier for them. He came home well on ground he wouldn't love and is far better on fast ground. He has a higher rating on the all-weather, so we'll see.

Adam (Caffrey, stable jockey) said to me the last time that the horse might benefit from claiming off him and taking the 7lb off his back was a big help today. Sam (Coen) does really well, is great value for 7lb and he is very strong. We were drawn wide so our biggest thing was to get settled and we did. I’m delighted for the lads who are good supporters of mine.
