Tanaza justifies market support
Newcomer Tanaza justified market support as she took the opener at Leopardstown, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, in the colours of the Aga Khan. Thu 11th Jun
She is a classy filly and it is nice to see her return to her two year old form. Pat (Smullen) didn't get the run he wanted in the Coronation Stakes but she has now won two Group 3's and we might look for a Group 2 next - her next run will probably decide whether she returns next year.
Kris Weld, representing D K Weld
It was a very good performance by her. She's just class. She has a lot pace and is bred to carry it over a distance. She's a filly that we've always said will appreciate a little more ease than there was this evening. A lot of Dubawi's want an ease. She stays well and is bred to stay really well but she has gears and always had them. I'd say that was a pretty good renewal of the race as they ran along. She has lots of pace and I see her a miler. That's as far as we'll ask her to go. Pat rode her from a long way off the pace and full of confidence. She'd win over five furlongs the same way she'd win over seven and the good ones do that.
D K Weld
She was just a little immature and green in the early stages. When she got the hang of things she came home extremely well. We ran today as it set her up nicely for the Silver Flash next month. The Group 3 is the logical way to go. She has plenty of stamina in her pedigree but is not short of pace. That was good fast ground and she handled it well.
