The Manatee gelding stayed on well then to lead on the run-in and going a bit further now should suit. A 7lb rise for that victory doesn’t look harsh. The four-year-old Kasper Hauser was a good winner on his chase debut at Tramore and it will be interesting to see how he fares now against more experienced types in handicap company. Luimneach is the other runner coming here in winning form and merits respect but may not have the same scope for improvement as the other two.%0A%0A

I get a great kick out of winning these 0-100s as I hardly ever win them. It's normally Eoin McCarthy or those other brilliant trainers who operate well with these horses. We have an incredible range of trainers in this division and this horse had finished second in this race two years ago. We tried him with blinkers and cheekpieces but took them all off today, except for a sheepskin noseband. He jumped well, never missed a beat and the jumping won it for him. It is fine margins down at this level, but if you jump well and keep saving, that can make the difference. There might be something over fences for him in Galway.

That’s huge as we buried Paddy Melarkey, who owned him along with Kevin (Haigney), only a few days ago. It was always going to be emotional whether he won it or not. You can’t beat a bit of divine intervention. He loves Punchestown and ran really well back in Thurles last month. He tends to need a good gap between his races. We wanted to run in the first race over two miles. I couldn't take on Gavin Cromwell's (Luker's Tipple) because he won the other night and, obviously, had no penalty. We said we'd try the two-six; it had been the plan to kind of hold him up a bit because we don't know if he stays or not. At the end of the day, Calum wasn't given any instructions, so he did what he had to do and he gave him a great ride. The horse always felt to me like he wanted three miles. He wasn't getting home as a juvenile, but obviously he was too big and weak. He's just getting stronger and good ground is the key to him. We plan to keep him going until September. The allowance is massive today - we were getting 12lbs. He's won two now so the job is done.

I'm gifting her back in January and the owner is going breeding from her. She nearly got black type in Clonmel last year, just missed out by one position.
