Still relatively lightly raced for current connections, the five-year-old opened his account im emphatic fashion at Downpatrick on his penultimate start. Following a solid effort behind a decent sort at Galway in July, the son of Doctor Dino can resume winning ways. A stablemate of the selection, Clay Pigeons could provide the greatest threat. Successful in two of his four appearances for Mullins, the Elusive Pimpernel gelding clearly failed to give his true running when tailed off at Down Royal last month. Dad Sez, who caught the eye at Galway prior to winning at Kilbeggan recently, has the potential for improvement after just three career starts.

He needs good ground so the better ground helped him. Brian gave him a great ride and he definitely jumped much better today and was a lot sharper. Fakenham was probably the wrong track for him, and the wrong ground. I think there is plenty of improvement in him, maybe up in trip. He’ll go jumping fences next year.
