THE MIDNITE ARE UPPING THE BETTING GAME CLASSIFIED STAKES (CLASS 6) Permission was given for Captain Pickles (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and for Desiderata (IRE) and Keeper Of Secrets (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the first bend involving Captain Pickles (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Zak Wheatley, Newfire (IRE), unplaced, ridden by William Pyle and Toronto Raptor (FR), unplaced, ridden by Harry Davies.
The interference was found to be accidental as Newfire (IRE) had hung left-handed despite Pyle’s best efforts briefly crowding Toronto Raptor (FR) for room, which in turn resulted in Wheatley having to check a free-running Captain Pickles (IRE) on the rail.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately two furlongs out involving the winner Port Noir (GB), ridden by Rose Dawes and Desiderata (IRE), placed second, ridden by Zoe Lewis.
Being a 7lb claimer, Lewis was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
Lewis was cautioned for careless riding as she edged her mount right-handed when insufficiently clear, giving a slight bump to Port Noir (GB), briefly unbalancing that runner.
Following the race, Alistair Rawlinson reported that Bondi Man (GB), unplaced, was slowly away, never travelling and hung left-handed throughout; Zak Wheatley reported that Captain Pickles (IRE), unplaced, ran too free and Harry Davies reported that Toronto Raptor (FR), unplaced, was denied a run turning in to the home straight.
