Permission was given for Manila Thriller (GB) and Art Patron (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for JIFF’S ARMY (IRE) and Jet Packer (GB) to be mounted on the course.
An enquiry was held to establish the reasons why stall number 5 opened as Manila Thriller (GB) was loaded, allowing the filly to exit the stall prematurely.
The two Starters and the Clerk of the Course were all interviewed and showed recordings of the incident.
The Starter’s explanation that the stall was given a nudge by the handler as he went under the gate to leave, causing it to open, was noted.
The Clerk of the Course confirmed that the stalls were checked as normal prior to racing.
Following the race, Michael Bell’s representative reported that Cardinal Point (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by today’s Going, officially described as Good to Firm and would prefer a slower surface; John Egan reported that Excellent Echo (GB), unplaced, ran too free and Edward Greatrex reported that Pinkarizon (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
