Permission was given for Beauzon (GB) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post, wearing a red hood.
An enquiry was held to consider interference at the end of the back straight, involving Professor Tickle (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Taryn Langley, Lihou (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jordan Williams and Nelson Gay (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Sean Kirrane.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Apprentice, Langley was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
Williams was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as when riding the bend, he left insufficient room on his inside for Professor Tickle (GB) and Nelson Gay (IRE), initially causing Professor Tickle (GB) to make contact with Nelson Gay (IRE) badly unbalancing the latter, before the aforementioned two runners were thereafter buffeted around for a sustained period when short of racing room.
Inside the final ½ furlong, Tyke (IRE), placed second, lugged right-handed at the same time as the winner, Prince Of Bel Lir (IRE), edged left-handed, resulting in both runners briefly becoming unbalanced after lightly bumping, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Prince Of Bel Lir (IRE).
Following the race, Edward Greatrex reported that Land Lover (GB), placed third, was slowly away from the stalls.
