He's a brilliant jumper. Paddy said just at the start he hesitated for a second. The plan was to make the running and the good thing about Paddy, there is always a 'Plan B'. If he had of been up there, he could have been brought down. He said he gave him a squeeze coming down the hill and he says he just took off. We had no tongue-tie in Limerick and I'd say that was the problem. I think the world of this horse and he just has had little quirky problems. I have them ironed out.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from John Joseph Hanlon, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Person Of Interest, placed first, as compared with its most recent run at Limerick on the 22nd of May. John Joseph Hanlon stated that a bit of luck today and a liking towards the track may have contributed to the improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given
E. Staples, rider of Doyen Magic, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount went to run out and he was unseated
