An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Our Papa Smurf (GB), ridden by Caoilin Quinn and Kill The Groove (IRE), placed second, ridden by Tom Cannon.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Our Papa Smurf (GB) as despite the gelding hanging right-handed in the closing stages and moving Kill The Groove (IRE) off its intended line, the rider of Kill The Groove (IRE) did not have to stop riding his mount at any point and always appeared to be being held by Our Papa Smurf (GB), with the winning distance being a neck at the line.
Quinn was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without timely correction.
