An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the four-furlong marker when Two Plus Two (IRE), placed second, ridden by Luke Morris interfered with Disquietude (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by David Egan.
The interference was found to be accidental as following mid-race communication between the two riders, Egan was in the process of electively moving to the outside in order to allow Morris out after the pace had slackened markedly in front.
However, as Morris began his move out, Callum Shepherd who was racing in front of Egan, moved right-handed to apply pressure to the slackening pace, which resulted in Morris having to shift further right-handed than he initially intended in order to avoid the heels of Shepherd, which resulted in Disquietude (IRE) being moved off its intended line.
Following the race, David Probert reported that Virtual Hug (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed in the straight.
Nikki Evans further added that in her opinion the gelding ran flat with the race possibly coming too soon following its previous run at Chelmsford four days ago.
