Permission was given for Birkenhead (GB) to go early to post, for Son Of Wind (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for Woodhay Whisper (IRE) to go early to post and to be mounted on the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately four furlongs out, involving Birkenhead (GB), placed second, ridden by Barry McHugh and Son Of Wind (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Tommie Jakes.
McHugh was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed Birkenhead (GB) to drift right-handed without sufficient correction causing Jakes to have to steady Son Of Wind (IRE).
Approximately two furlongs out, Son Of Wind (IRE), unplaced, lugged slightly right-handed causing Woodhay Whisper (IRE), placed fourth, to be steadied when crowded for racing room.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
