Permission was given for Tees Spirit (GB) to go early to post, for Fluorescence (GB) to wear a red hood to the start and for both MICHAELA’S BOY (IRE) and Sugar Hill Babe (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
Adrian Nicholls was fined £290 for failing to notify the Racing Calendar Office prior to declarations that Tees Spirit (GB) had undergone Wind Surgery.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving Frank The Spark (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Barry McHugh, and Castan (GB), unplaced, ridden by Andrew Breslin.
The interference was found to be accidental in that Castan (GB) had gone for an ambitious gap up the rail at the same time as Frank The Spark (GB) edged slightly left-handed causing Castan (GB) to be crowded for room on the rail and Breslin subsequently having to take a check.
Following the race, Andrew Breslin reported that Castan (GB), unplaced, suffered interference and became unbalanced so therefore felt it prudent to ease the gelding to the line.
