Straight - Soft, round course - Yielding View all races

Formscan By John O'Riordan - A staying on third in the Irish Cambridgeshire last month, JOHNNY SODA(6) can register a fourth victory of the season. The Ado McGuinness-trained gelding drops in class for this contest and gives the impression that he is still ahead of the assessor. Only 2lb higher now, the son of Cotai Glory looks set to play a leading role under Adam Caffrey. Truth Be Told, who has been racing over further in recent starts, is of obvious interest. A winner over 10-furlongs on his stable debut at Leopardstown in May, the Michael Grassick-trained four-year-old looks a versatile sort. Killarney winner Majestic King has been hit with a 10lb rise but shouldn't be discounted.

Quotes on Eastwatch (IRE)

You can see the size of him. He’s a very good horse, he’s a four-year-old all day long,. We ran him in Leopardstown and dropped him out the back, he still ran green there — he’s a big backward horse. I think the sky's the limit when he gets to four. I think he is a very good horse. He beat a horse rated 101 there and he said he was idling the whole way up the straight. He nearly got himself beat looking around the place, he’s just a big baby. We made the wrong decision the last day, he’s just a galloper. He wasn’t hard on him and he was running on in the finish. We were happy but disappointed with what we did ourselves, the way we rode him. We probably should have been second or third if we rode him more forward. Today around the track he didn’t travel early on, he’s just a big baby. I think he could be a Melbourne Cup horse. I think he’ll get a mile-and-a-half or two miles when he steps up. I would love to put him away for another while and wait until September or October. The owners wanted me to bring him back and run him, I didn’t want to run him until then anyway but the owners wanted to go again. I’ll give him another little break now.

Quotes on Cristal Clere (IRE)

That's brilliant, I'm delighted. He was a little horse we bought to win a maiden in Belharbour but he went a different direction. We bought a couple of Flat ones to get Seanie (nephew) going. If you want an event pony they cost half a million and we bought him for 15 grand. He's after winning 45 grand now and putting the jockey on the board. Seanie said he was feeling the surface at Dundalk the last day and changing his legs. We didn't know how he'd go on the ground on Sunday, we were just hoping he would. He jumps hurdles and fences, so hopefully he'll rock on. He's a right little horse, we bought him at Newmarket last year at the horses-in-training sale — he hadn't run. When we brought him home we thought we had him for point-to-pointing and we schooled him over fences and all. When we put him up against the rest of the pointers, he was a bit on small side and I said if he wins we still won't get paid for him, so we'll get value for Seanie rather than go that way. These Flat men have it cushy, this fella doesn't do anything. We were off schooling this morning at 7am this morning with a load of horses. You just give this fella a few nuts and a pick of grass and away he goes, it's an easy game. I carried out the saddle for him today and if he rides him over hurdles I'll have to get a wheelbarrow to carry the saddle. Hopefully we'll run him over hurdles, he could be a right little horse for that. He could go to any of those (Flat) handicaps in the summer as well for expe

Quotes on Truth Be Told (IRE)

He’d been working well. I’d be good friends with Kris Weld and he recommended him, which is always a help. I liked him watching his last couple of runs. He wasn’t long gelded then, when Dermot had him, and you could see on his last couple of runs that he was really starting to enjoy it. Dermot obviously thought plenty of him, he was his Galway horse. I just loved the way he won going away in Thurles, that’s why we bought him. Luckily enough Ken (Campbell) was looking for a horse. I thought he’d fit the bill ideally, instead of buying a yearling I said we’d buy a fun horse. He looks like he’s going to be that anyway. They went a nice gallop and you’re able to come off the pace here today, so it suited well. All the gaps opened up, and he got a lovely run through them. He won well and hopefully he’s a bit of fun for Ken. There might be something for him on Guineas weekend. He won over a mile-and-a-half around Thurles, but that’s an easy mile-and-a-half. When he starts stepping up in class we’ll see how far he goes but he’s bred to stay. He’s closely related to Royal Diamond, who won an Irish Leger.

Quotes on Final Voyage (IRE)

That's Jessica's first win for me, she joined me this year and it is great to have her on the team. She is great in the mornings, loves her horses and this lad (Final Voyage) is a pet in the yard, so the apprentices get a go on him. I always tell the lads riding him to 'drop him in, don't come too soon' and, before today, he had also never won on the grass!. He is a lead horse at home and if we have one to get by him, they usually run well. He also pays his way and I'm delighted to get Jessica a winner. She does three-days-a-week with us.

Quotes on Johnny Soda (IRE)

He was a breeze-up horse from last year, I bought him off Ian McCarthy,. I was told he was a very nice horse and he’s proved it now. I thought we weren’t well handicapped at the start of the year but he’s done really well. He’s a decent horse and I think he can progress more; he could turn into a premier handicap horse before we’re finished. He’s a big huge horse. Adam was very good on him. He said there was going to be no pace. He thought Dylan might make it and he didn’t give him a freebie, he sat on his girth. Dylan kicked early off the bend but he cruised into the race. I’m very happy. It’s a great bunch of lads that own him. Most of them are from Dublin. They’ll be happy men today so I’m delighted.

Quotes on Retracement (IRE)

He’s a horse with a lot of ability but he’s a little bit tricky. He’s starting to settled into the place now. He’s a bit keen and he was running with his head up in the air a bit. I think he’s really grown up mentally more than anything else. We fancied him a few times but riding him the way we rode him it was always going to be tough to win. I thought coming today he was in good shape, he was after growing up. He’s in the mile-and-a-half handicap (at Leopardstown) on Sunday and we’ll see how he is. We’ll decide it over the next few days.

Quotes on Galileo Noir (IRE)

Galileo Noir is a good horse and it’s easier when they are good! At Naas the last day, he arrived into contention going really easy, but blew up and just got tired. I was a bit worried that the trip (1m1f) might be too far, but they went steady. He has loads of boot and Colin said we could bring him back to a mile, but I’d say a mile-and-a-quarter will suit him well. He has quite a nice pedigree, and he’s a good-looking horse who probably likes that ground as well. It’s great to win and we’ll just take one day at a time with him. We’ll enjoy that and see where we go from there.
After Galileo Noir (IRE) finished 1st at Curragh on Fri, 3rd Apr 2026 1m 1f Flat Maiden Soft to Heavy
